Growing up, Mandy always participated in a wide variety of activities. Her involvement with sports began with competitive swimming at age five. Her interest in athletics continued throughout high school, which led to a track/field scholarship at Clemson University. At Clemson Mandy excelled as a pole-vaulter and heptathlete, and at the end of her college career was an Olympic hopeful until a serious injury took her out of the game. A highly energetic and motivated woman, not only does Mandy dedicate her time and energy to pro-level triathlons, in 2004 she founded Freedom of Speech LLC – a speech and language therapy business.

Sal Lombardo

Coach Sal shares the strategies he has used over a 34 year career coaching youth sports. His baseball program, which includes twelve teams, has produced thousands of collegiate players and has helped hundreds reach the professional level. Most notable is his approach which focuses on improving the belief system of each young player for achieving higher levels of confidence in life, not just sports. He also describes the “best practices” of positive parents.

Jeff Deardorff distinguished himself throughout his Florida high school baseball career and won a bronze medal playing for Team USA. Drafted into professional baseball after his senior year, Jeff spent six years with the New York Yankees honing his skills and gaining a player’s perspective on the game. Today Jeff serves as a professional scout for the Yankees and contributes his vast knowledge about the game to help parents and athletes go from good to great.

Dom Deluzio

Don Deluzio already had four of his own children immersed in youth sports when he agreed to become the legal guardian of five more children from another family – and all of them played sports!  The circumstances of this unusual situation, and the dynamics of opening his home to a family in need, gave Don a whole new perspective on being a sport parent.  Listen to his interview as he shares the lessons he learned about how to play one of life’s most important roles.
