Maddy Curley started gymnastics at age four. Seeing Ron Galimore’s Athletic Training Center for the first time, she told her mom she wanted to try it after watching the girls through the window. She caught on quickly, competed in national elite, won Elite Nationals her senior year of high school, and continued on to earn a full scholarship to the University of North Carolina for gymnastics and competed all four years. Curley is now a busy Hollywood actress landing lead roles in several independent films as well as guest roles on television shows such as CSI: New York and The Office.
Gymnastics played a huge part in landing her first feature film, Stick It. “I definitely knew how to act like a gymnast, thus my audition was a breeze. I also think it played a part in helping book Cold Case. They were looking for a fit girl to play a military cadet, thus I continue to train regularly. I encourage everyone to have dreams and aspirations; I am a prime example that dreams, no matter how big or small, can come true with hard work and perseverance.”
